By the way, I was fortunate enough to work in Melbourne a short period of time a couple of years ago and you reminded me of looking through my image archive from that time. @Judy: Well, I´m not a Photoshop expert so there are probably better ways to achieve something like this. For this image I used masked curve layers, one for the sky, one for the foregound and an additional one for the house. The HDR feeling comes from a very steep curve applied to the house which increased the contrast. I only used these layers for contrast, i.e. the RGB, whereas the toning was made using a final curve layer applied to the whole image where I fiddled around with the red, green and blue colours, respectively.
