Seasons can´t lastPosted by Peter Mannfolk (Landskrona, Sweden) on 5 August 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. Or so it seems. After weeks of warm and dry weather, a storm came crashing down today. This one was taken yesterday as the first clouds gathered.

Congratulations. 5 Aug 2008 4:30pm Sriram from Chennai, IndiaAwesome work and tones are quite brilliant! Please give us some briefing on the post processing on this image! 5 Aug 2008 5:03pm @Sriram: This was processed using curves layers - one for the sky and sea, one for the beach and a final one for the bucket and shovel. In this case I didn´t want too much contrast in the background so the curve there is rather shallow whereas the curve for the bucket/shovel is steep to bring out the details. Oh, and the mask for the beach layer is a gradient, making the light more prominent in the foreground. Thanks for your comment! /Peter Helen from Melbourne, Victoria, AustraliaThe processing on your photo has enhanced this photo to the point of brilliance! Thank for the briefing Peter. You are quite versatile. I really enjoy popping by. Thanks for sharing. 5 Aug 2008 8:50pm Jeff from Honolulu, United StatesNice sense of perspective to go with the processing. 6 Aug 2008 4:37am Bill Jennings from Los Altos (Bay Area Northern Calif), United StatesSuch a simple subject with a stunning presentation - the selection of colors works fantastically. 28 Apr 2009 9:46pm Tim Woodward from Devon, United KingdomGreat work! Thanks for the pp notes posted to Sriram they are inspiring, I am getting so side tracked in Lightroom 2 (now with added local effects brushes , gradients etc) with my old stuff that nothing even remotely new is hitting my blog yet!!! I have just found the negative clarity trick to get that 'glow' look to highlights - haven't been in Photoshop proper for weeks :-) Tim. 12 May 2009 9:00am |
